Biological Aerated Filter / BAF

Biological Aerated Filter, abbreviated as BAF, is a new wastewater treatment process developed by our company on the basis of ordinary biological filters and by drawing on the water supply filter industry. At present, this process has been successfully applied in fields such as advanced treatment of Printing and Dyeing Wastewater. Raw water enters the buffer distribution zone. When flowing upward through the filter media layer, it is purified by the microbial film attached to and growing on the filter media, and then discharged through the effluent outlet. During backwashing of the filter, lighter filter media may be carried by the water flow to the effluent outlet, can settle in the inclined plate sedimentation zone, and then flow back into the filter to ensure the concentration of microbial biomass in the filter.
